Bladderwrack

Bladderwrack is a plant that belongs to a class of Phaeophycae and to the Fucaceae family. There are over nine hundred Fucus species, all marine, with the exception of three. They are widespread in all cold waters, especially along sea coasts, and are characterized by a brown pigment which is called fucoxanthin which hides chlorophyll. Bladderwrack is an important source of Iodine. It’s used in herbal medicine because it helps keep body weight balanced, stimulates the overall metabolism and especially fat metabolism.
