Beetroot

Beet (Beta vulgaris L.) is a plant that belongs to the Chenopodiaceae family.
Red beets or turnips is "rubra" variety and is different from sugar beet.
This biennial herb is sometimes grown annually with taproots and stems that can reach up to 2 meters in height. The leaves are heart shaped, the flowers are tiny, green or reddish in color.
The roots are typically a red-purply colour and are used as food. They are rich in minerals, vitamins and fiber. They are recommended for fighting fatigue, detoxifying and effectively counteracting constipation, hemorrhoids, and increasing stool bulk.
