Gymnema

Gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre) is a large woody climbing plant that belongs to the Asclepiadaceae family. It has oval or elliptical shaped leaves, and its flowers are yellow and have a bell shape. It’s widespread in the tropical areas of Africa, Asia and Australia because of the humid climate. It has been used for ages in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for its hypoglycemic properties. In India they call it "gur mar", which literally means "eat sugar." Gymnema helps regulate carbohydrates and lipid absorption and suppresses the feeling of hunger.
