Vitamin A

Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that occurs naturally in different forms. This term refers to both retinol and its analogues, called retinoids. Carotenoids have the same biological activity of Vitamin A because they act as provitamins. Retinoids are found in animal products such as liver, kidney, eggs, and dairy products, while carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, can be found in vegetables (dark or yellow vegetables, carrots). The Vitamin A contributes to normal iron levels, helps maintain skin health, healthy mucous membranes, healthy vision and normal immune system functioning.
