Sage

Sage belongs to the Labiatae family. It is generally found in Mediterranean regions and in cultivated gardens, it is very difficult to find in the wild. It looks like an evergreen shrub: it has an erect stem, which can grow to be up to 70 centimeters high. The leaves are lance shaped and are rather thick and tough. Sage flowers are bluish-purple in color. Sage is traditionally used in toothpaste because it refreshes, deodorizes and bleaches the teeth.
