Goldenrod

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea L.) is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. It’s located in the cooler regions of Europe, Asia and North America. It can grow as much as 80 centimeters in height and grows in wooded meadows with hardwood and softwood trees, in pastures, or in areas with gravelly or rocky debris. The generic name Solidago refers to the medicinal properties of the species and may possibly be derived from the Latin word "solid", or rather, consolidate, strengthen and heal completely. The specific name, virgaurea (goldenrod), refers to its showy yellow inflorescence. Goldenrod extract helps get rid of excess body liquids and promotes urinary tract function.
