Elderberry

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) is a deciduous woody plant. This species is widespread in Italy, especially along railway routes, in parks, in damp woods and along the banks of waterways. It’s traditionally ascribed to the Caprifoliaceae family. It’s a shrub that grows to be about 4 to 6 meters high; it has lance shaped leaves with serrated edges, milky white flowers and shiny, blackish colored berries. Elderberry flower extract thins bronchial secretions, improves the upper respiratory tract function and strengthens the body's immune system.
