Copper is a chemical element (atomic number 29). Its chemical symbol Cu is derived from its Latin name, Cuprum. Copper is an essential trace element (it can only be taken through food) that is very useful for our body: it contributes to the maintenance of connective tissue health, normal energy levels, normal nervous system functioning, healthy hair and skin pigmentation, normal iron distribution in the body, normal immune system function; additionally, it protects cells from oxidative stress.
