Tea tree oil

Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) belongs to the Myrtaceae family. Native to eastern Australia, it is found along the northern coast and adjacent areas of New South Wales. It grows near streams and swamps. Aboriginal population used its bark to build canoes and small tools, while the leaves were used to create remedies for cough and skin injuries. After landing in Australia, Captain Cook drank an infusion of malaleuca leaves and mistook them for tea leaves, hence the name tea tree. Tea Tree Oil supports the functionality of the upper respiratory tract.
