Potassium

Potassium (which is the scientific Latin name that is derived from the word "potassa") is a chemical element (atomic number 19). Its symbol, K, comes from the original Latin name, "kalium". It’s a silvery-white common alkaline metal that is found in nature combined with other elements such as sea water and other minerals. Potassium is a mineral that is very beneficial for the human body: it contributes to normal nervous system functioning, normal muscle function, and the maintenance of normal blood pressure.
