Black radish

Black Radish (Raphanus sativus niger) is an edible plant that belongs to the Brassicaceae family. Its name is probably derived from the Greek root "raphys", turnip, which comes from the antique Persian word "raphe", rapid appearance, which alludes to the rapid germination of the plant’s seeds. The name "sativus" means "what gets sowed", a plant that is planted and cultivated by man. It’s used in herbal medicine because it helps promote digestive function, drains body liquids, and aids urinary tract function.
