Chamomile

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomile L.) is an annual herbaceous plant that belongs to the Asteraceae family. Its name is Greek and means "apple of the land,” because it smells like a rennet apple. The genus name, Matricaria, comes from the Latin word "matrix" (uterus), with refers to chamomile’s ability to soothe menstrual disorders. It can also be use topically to soothe and calm red and inflamed skin and gums. Oral ingestion can help regulate gastrointestinal motility and eliminate gas. It has emollient and soothing properties on the digestive system. It helps induce relaxation and sleep.
