Geraniol: Cosmetic Properties
Geraniol is a terpene lymphatic alcohol that is present in many essences that are extracted from plants. It’s a colourless liquid, sometimes yellowish, has pleasant smell, and therefore is often used in perfumery.
It gets extracted from flowers and geranium flowers and leaves, which is geranium's characterizing ingredient of along with citronellol, linalool, alpha-terpineol, methyl-eugenol. However, it’s also found in verbena, lemon balm, myrtle, oranges, bergamot, carrots, nutmeg and blueberries.
