Arginine: Essential Amino Acid
Arginine is a basic polar amino acid. It was isolated for the first time in 1886 from a lupine bud extract by a chemist named Ernst Schultze. Its name comes from the Latin word "argentum" because it was isolated for the first time with silver salt. Arginine is found in almost all proteins and in free form in many plants, such as buckwheat, cucurbits and coniferous trees. Arginine is involved in many metabolic processes, such as improving blood circulation and strengthening the immune system.
