Lactulose

Lactulose is a disaccharide composed of fructose and galactose. It is not digested, so it draws water into the colon, makes the stool semi-solid and contributes to the acceleration of intestinal transit. Its effect is obtained with a dose of 10 grams. As it is neither digested nor absorbed by the human gastrointestinal system, it does not provide calories and is not contraindicated for those who follow slimming diets and/or suffer from diabetes.
