Marshmallow

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) is a plant that belongs to the Malvaceae family. The Latin term comes from the greek word "althos", which means "cure". The plant’s roots are usually used in herbal medicine, however the flowers and leaves are used as well, just not as much. It’s used internally because it proves beneficial on the mucous respiratory membranes and the throat.
