Plant Sterols

Plant sterols are derived from plants; they are very common natural substances, found in cereals, nuts, broccoli and pine trees. Studies show that plant sterols reduce cholesterol in the blood which is beneficial for people with high cholesterol, because it often leads to coronary heart disease. A daily minimum intake of 0.8 g of plant sterols is necessary to make a positive impact on the body.
