Mint

Mint (genus Mentha) is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It has a strong aromatic, pungent and spicy flavour. It grows is Europe, Asia and Africa. It likes full sun and partial shade but is also resistant to low temperatures. It was widely used by the Egyptians and the Romans, in fact, Mint was used by the Greek physician Galen as a medicinal plant. Mint benefits the body in multiple ways: it regulates gastrointestinal motility and eliminates gas; additionally, it promotes digestive function and liver function. It has also soothing effect on the nose and throat.
