Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a spontaneous herbaceous perennial rustic plant. It grows to be about one meter high and has small, white flowers. It grows wildly in the Mediterranean regions of Europe and in western Asia. In Italy it grows along hedges and in shady areas. Today it is grown all over the world and is very much appreciated as an aromatic herb. The whole plant has a pleasant lemonly scent. The latin name, Melissa, comes from the Greek word "méli", which means "honey" and refers to the fact that bees love its flowers.
Lemon Balm helps digestive function. It regulates gastrointestinal motility and eliminates gas, additionally it promotes relaxation and mental well-being and helps to balance mood.
