Horehound

Horehound (Marrubium vulgare L.) is a perennial herbaceous aromatic plant that belongs to the Lamiaceae family and originally comes from European Mediterranean countries. It can reach up to a meter in height. It grows in wild areas and in dry soils up to 1200 meters in altitude. It’s now widespread in Africa, North America and Asia Minor. Horehound probably gets its name from Hebrew word "mar", which means bitter and "rob", juice. Horehound promotes digestive function, bronchial secretion fluidity and eliminates intestinal gas.
