Hedge Mustard

Hedge Mustard (Sisymbrium officinale) is a plant that belongs to the Brassicaceae or Cruciferae family.  It is commonly found in uncultivated lands and close to residential areas in Europe, while in America it is known, but not widely used. Its leaves and flowers are used in herbal medicine. It is otherwise known as "singer’s grass", because it is used against aphonia. It does in fact possess calming properties that soothe the oropharyngeal mucosa and help improve the tone of voice. It contributes to the overall function of the upper respiratory tract.
