Clover

Red clover, or meadow clover (Trifolium pratense L.), is a widespread perennial plant that grows in various countries around the world. It prefers grasslands and wet meadows. It grows up to 50 cm in height and produces scarlet flowers. It is a good grass for animal feed. The flowers contain flavonoids, in particular, four different isoflavones that bind to estrogen receptors and act as weak agonists or as antagonists. In phytotherapy, red clover extract is used to counteract menopausal disorders.
