Caraway

Caraway (Carum carvi L.) is a biennial plant that belongs to the Apiaceae family. It’s native to Europe and central-west Asia and grown both in Europe and in the United States. Caraway could get confused with cumin: cumin’s fruits look similar, but they’re smaller with a completely different flavor.
Caraway fruits have a pungent flavor similar to anise and an aroma due to its essential oils, limonene and carvone.
It promotes digestive function, regulates gastrointestinal motility, eliminates intestinal gas and improves bronchial secretion fluidity.
